Mirror, mirror on the wall, who faces the greatest truth of all??

Now, I don't often get mad, but today I'm madder than any poor cow with Mad Cow Disease and I'm devoting this post entirely to Dung vu Dinh and Love the Flowers. And no, I'm not even going to give links here because I'm going to tell all my readers how to reach them in a minute!

These two bloggers, who have plenty of ads from Google on their blogs, have completely taken my blog and stuck it on their own as though they'd written it and indeed, taken the photos. And what's more ... every time I post, my entries appear on their blogs within seconds!

Now I want you to know, Dung vu Dinh, or Who Flung Dung, or whoever you are, that I really hope you enjoy posting this entry! And for my regular readers, if you care to check out their website, which masquerades under the name of Digital Photomania, you will see that their entire blog is my recent entries - word for word and pic for pic. Well, that's fine, but I sure hope you're going to enjoy this entry because even these photographs are mine, and if you're looking for pictures, this selection is just for you!

As for Love the Flowers, check this out, because this little charmer is just for you! Great little guy sitting on a branch ... but he's watching you!! And for my regular readers, you can see what this blog is doing with my work - check out the link and go to the right-hand side bar, and you will see that Love the Flowers certainly loves the Galloping Gardener, because they've borrowed all my posts again.

In conclusion, I want to say sorry to the very beautiful Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden because they got caught in the middle of this, but if you want to see my post on this magnificent garden, you can check out the link and rest assured, I will be re-posting just as soon as I can get this little blighter off my back. Thanks too for all your messages and ... watch this space! And yes, I have reported all of this to Blogger!! Below, is the original post on my recent entry, but I've removed it so you can now enjoy Fairchild without my whining!!

And by the way all text and photographs here, belong to me: The Galloping Gardener, so if you're thinking of borrowing without asking, think again!

PLEASE NOTE FELLOW BLOGGERS!! This link will take you straight to a blog that copies your entries straight from your own blog with no credits for photographs or editorial content - I only noticed because they popped up on my followers list! I don't actually have a problem with them putting up my entries because they all link back to my blog! But it sure would be nice to get a credit, so... if you're reading this - Love the Flowers - at least have the courtesy to give all the bloggers (and I'm not the only one!) you're putting on your blog the credit they deserve!!
And wait for it ... since posting, they've even posted this comment on another site!

  1. Keep me posted in this matter, I really hope something can be done!!! All my sympathies to you!
This is one occasion when my minority language (swedish) comes in as handy and not so bad after all...

  2. Blow the whistle! Blogger takes this sort of thing quite seriously. You'd think people would get a life...or start their own darned blog.

  3. I'm really angry for you too. Have you filed a complaint with blogger yet? Go to their blog, and click on the "report abuse" link at the top left corner. They need to be shut down as soon as possible.

  4. Not only you, but Grace Peterson's posts are on there, too, complete with watermarks on the pics that say GracePete as big as life. There are others that I recognize the post but can't remember to whom they belong. There are several that have photos watermarked with Outside In. Do you reckon these scrapers think the watermarks are the names of the flowers?

  5. Unbelievable that they would do this. How much can they make on those Google ads? And the time it takes to cut and paste....

    Frustrating for you.

I think that this site isn't working just right now, but when it is up and running it's a great site to check if anyone is copying your blog.

Just be warned, they only allow you so many free checks per month.

I have Google alerts set for all of my blogs, and my website. It does pick up any mention of my blog, and sometimes I find that someone has copied stuff. Give it a try.

  7. Oooooh - there's evil afoot in the great garden blogosphere. I'm new (just since January) and have been so impressed with the collegiality of everyone I've met via blogs - what a shame to have this happening out there. Glad for your post though - don't want to go through life with blinders on. Thanks for picking my post on Blotanical. I appreciate the encouraging feedback! Kelly

  8. How awful for you! I hope this can be resolved. I'd be furious, and am on your behalf.

  9. Charlotte, I do not know what happened to my previous comment, maybe it ended up on Love The Flowers. How horrible of them, I am furious on your behalf, hopefully Blogger can do something about it.

  10. You have all the right to be mad and angry.
Do take the trouble to report abuse and let them know that these are copyright infrigement.

Also put on their comment that the whole thing is copied from your blog and also let the followers know that this in a copied stuff.

  11. How absolultely awful!! I hope the recourse on the part of blogger includes deleting the site asap. Sorry to see this!

  12. Now that I look at the two blog links it seems to me that they probably have hundreds of dummy blogs, not just gardening ones, and the stealing from other's blogs is done by a bot program - so not labour-intensive. Just my guess as it wouldn't be cost effective to maintain one or two blogs and do all the work of stealing and posting. Call me paranoid, but I think this is part of a larger e-scam. So sorry to see you and other gardeners I enjoy so much being ripped off!

  13. DISGUSTING AND REPULSIVE CREATURE that "creatures like this ""wuu ji yon, yun"" etc(whoever) stolen your pics. Why you don't post your pics with this program where they can't copy? I think you'llfeel better and they can't continue doing a very unprofessional action like this and then they are going to be messing with the wrong person.

  14. Oh goodness. I do hope blogger takes their site down. Unfortunately, it is probably all to easy for them to set up another one. Thank you for the warning and I am sorry you have been victimized this way.

  15. Thank you all for your help and support - I too am disgusted, but I have managed to post comments on their blog now! Waiting for Blogger to sort them out! GG

  16. I've read your post twice now and am still amazed that someone would copy and entire blog! I guess I wouldn't have been surprised to learn that there are people who nick a picture here and some content there, but the whole thing?! I hope it is all sorted out very soon for you.

  17. Just spotted this and like others find the whole thing disgusting - even worse than spamming which is bad enough!

    ReplyDelete
  18. If everyone who reads this also goes there and files a complaint, at least you have the weight of numbers. I've put one in already on several of their sites. Blogger won't want a reputation as a spamhole, so the more complaints the better!

  19. Keep the faith, dear Charlotte, and keep after them. If you know Doug Green of Doug Green's garden, you might contact him because he knows all the ways to go after such scum. Filing a DCMA complaint with Blogger is the first step. I'd do it on your behalf but it has to come from the author whose work has been stolen. We're rooting for you.

  20. Sorry that this is happening to your blog now too. Many of the posts were taken from Gardening by Trial and Error. After she posted about it and other bloggers left comments there, they removed the comments section, and they are still copying her posts. It's too bad people take advantage of other peoples hard work. Hope it gets taken care of.

  21. I'm really horrified to read about this. The Copyscape program will work for you in terms of text of yours that gets copied (which has clearly happened, in spades) but I don't think it can search for copied photos. Please let us know if Blogger takes down these sites. Best of luck. We know who's really writing these great posts!

  22. What a sad state of affairs - you must be spitting feathers ! I do hope that Blogger rectifies the situation as soon as possible.

  23. This is disgusting! Charlotte, I'm on your side and Bravo to you for letting them have a taste of their own medicine.
